Moin,
bin grade dabei, einen neuen Server mit FreeBSD 9.1 auf ZFS aufzusetzen; dazu gibt's Jails nach neuer Lesart, pkgng-Pakete statt Ports und ein eigenes Paket-Repository, gebaut mit Poudriere.
Wenn Interesse an einer Anleitung besteht, würde ich die Mitschnitte redaktionell entsprechend aufbereiten.

Ob das mit der Kürze so hinhaut... ist grade mal die Beta1 draußen. Es wird auf jeden Fall eine Beta2 geben (ist schon angekündigt), möglicherweise sogar eine Beta3 und danache dann mindestens 2 RCs.
Unabhängig davon, ja, sollte auch für 9.2 funktionieren, mit einem Unterschied: 9.2 braucht den Hokus-Pokus mit zpool.cache nicht mehr, um von einem Zpool booten zu können.
