mysql dump führt zu crash

habe hier Probleme mit einem DS, dieser soll morgen im RZ ausgetauscht werden.
Habe jetzt allerdings das Problem das dieses System beim mysql dump einfach runter fährt. Habe vor dem Dump sogar Apache gestoppt um Load zu minimieren.
Den Dump habe ich gestartet mit:

mysqldump --opt --password=xxxxxxx --allow-keywords --flush-logs --hex-blob --quote-names --all-databases > /mnt/backup/mysql.sql

Hatte noch eine 2. Console (top) offen während des Dumps - dabei bliebs dann hängen:

Der letzte Dump war ca. 560 MB gross ...

stimmt - klappt das nachher mit dem user pw aus der alten debian.cnf?
