Hallo,
ich habe da gerade ein kleines Problem.
Ich habe einen Rechner mit dem 3ware 9650SE-8LP aufgesetzt.
Nun wollte ich Debian Etch installieren.
Ich nutze dafür immer die net-install mit 2.6.18-4
Aber das Raid wird nicht erkannt (Raid1 in der 3ware Software nach dem Boot installiert)
Nun habe ich bei 3ware gelesen das der 9650SE-8 erst nativen Support ab 2.6.19 bietet.
Nur wo bekomme ich eine net-install mit 2.6.19 oder höhrer her.
Oder andere Ideen zur Vorgehensweise?
Probiere das auch alles nur an meinem Home Rechner um näher in die Materie reinzukommen.
Für eure Tipps bin ich euch dankbar

Aktuellere Distribution wählen oder eigene netinstall-cd/dvd erstellen oder debootstrap oder auf Debian 5.0 warten...

Welche Distribution würdest du da empfehlen bzw. Download Link? Würde schon gerne eigentlich bei Debian bleiben :-/

Empfehlen würde ich Gentoo, auch wenn Du die Installation wegen des Controllers vorerst per http://www.sysresccd.org/ erledigen musst.

würde es gehen wenn man auf einer separaten System platte Debian mit 2.6.18 installiert, dann auf 2.6.19 oder .23 upgraded und kann man dann das 3ware Raid über die Shell einbinden? Sowas habe ich noch nie gemacht, daher die Frage ob das möglich ist.

Allerdings kommt während der Formatierung, das kein Root Datei System angegeben wurde :-/?
Folgend habe ich aufgeteilt
1 GB für Boot auf /boot/ Boot Flag
4GB Swap
Rest auf / als ext3
