Hardware Raid deaktivieren

Hallo ich habe zwar einen Thread hierzu hier im Forum gefunden jedoch ist mir dieser keine große hilfe.

Ich habe einen Server bei Server4You mit Hardwareraid 2x80gb und SuSe 9.3. Da die Platte jetzt aber langsam voll wird würde ich gerne auch die zweite platte benutzen aber wenns geht so das die Daten die jetzt drauf sind nicht verloren gehen bzw auf einer Platte bleiben und ich die andere formatiere und mit anderen Daten füllen kann.

Auch wenn ich die Idee ehrlich gesagt ziemlich unbedacht finde:
Um was für einen "Hardware-RAID"-Controller handelt es sich denn dabei?
