Server vom internet "abgeschottet"

nun .. ich hab n ganz lustiges problem
ich habe meinen root restartet (reboot -n) da kam er irgendwie nicht mehr hoch.. konnte per ssh nicht connecten etc.

hab ich mir gedacht.. ich schau mal in die sercon console hm dort alles normal ich bin drin kann mich einloggen.

nun als root eingeloggt mal probieren ob ich verbindung zum netz bekomme...

Dein Netzwerkinterface wurde nicht mehr gestartet. `/etc/init.d/network* start` sollte helfen oder zumindest entsprechende Fehlermeldungen bringen.

In der Ausgabe von ifconfig wurde eth0 nicht angezeigt, das Interface wurde also nicht initialisiert. Entweder hast du die Ausgabe von ifconfig abgeschnitten (schlecht) oder dein ifconfig lügt (ganz schlecht).

Tja dein Interface für eth0 (LAN) ist immer noch weg. ich würde mal in /etc/network/interfaces nachschauen (http://www.linux-related.de/index.html? ... tzwerk.htm)
ggf mal ein beherzetes
ifconfig eth0 up und schauen was er dann sagt.

Ansonsten frag doch den 1und1 Support, der hat vielleicht Hilfe für Dich..

die /etc/network/interfaces ist so konfiguriert das sie sich die daten über einen DHCP-Server holt.

Vielleicht liegt es einfach daran, das keine IP-Adresse vom DHCP-Server bezogen werden kann. Trag doch einfach mal die IP-Adresse fest in /etc/network/interfaces ein. Sollte nicht ein Server sowieso eine feste IP haben?

Debian nutzt AFAIR dhclient als DHCP-Client.

Das ist zuwenig für einen Rootserver.

Normalerweise bringt man in Deinem Fall die Karte temporär mit

setzt mit

die Route und passt ggf. die Nameserver in der /etc/resolv.conf an. Natürlich Deine Parameter nehmen.

Dann kann man nachschauen, ob der DHCP-Server des Providers down war, das dhclient-Binary defekt ist (missratenes Update, kaputte Festplatte?) oder sonstwas los ist...
