Hallo zusammen.
Ich benutze vsftpd. Nun habe ich versucht den Server von außerhalb zu erreichen und haben den Port 20 und 21 in der Firewall freigegeben. Das einloggen klappt auch ohne Probleme allerdings bekomme ich dann ein Timeout. Das liegt wohl daran das der Server eine Verbindung über einen anderen Port herstellen will wie z.B. port 21614. Dieser ist natürlich durch die Firewall geschlossen. Wie kann ich vsftpd also so einrichten das die Verbindung über den Port 21 geht oder wie kann ich die Firewall korrekt einstellen?
Ohne Firewall funktioniert es ohne Probleme.

Du möchtest dich weiterbilden und so verstehen was es mit ftp/ftp-data port auf sich hat.
Auch sind active/passive FTP ein interessantes Thema.

Das musst Du beim Client einstellen und nicht beim Server.
