Vanilla Kernel auf aktuellem 1und1-Server

Ich hab versucht, einen Vanilla-Kernel auf dem aktuellen 1und1 Server zu kompilieren.
Leider kommt immer eine Kernel Panic.
Ich hab hier mal den Bootprozess mitgelogt.

Hat jemand einen Tip für mich was fehlt?

Was wäre eine "stabile" Version?

Ich denke eher, daß das ein Config-Problem ist - SMP-Kernel auf Single-Maschine weist darauf hin, daß der Rest der Config auch nicht paßt.

GCC3.3 oder 3.4 sind bezüglich Kernel etwas besser, aber ich hab den 2.6.1x auch schon mal mit GCC4 zum Laufen gebracht.

Wo hast Du die Config her?

Die config ist selbstgebastelt.
Ich hab allerdings keinerlei Erfahrung auf 64bit-Systemen. Muß man da was spezielles beachten?

Keine wirkliche Ahnung ... aber anscheinend schon :-)

Nimmm Dir die config eines funktionierenden Kernels und paß Dir die an - damit läufst Du am besten bei so einem Blindflug.

Der Kernel erkennt keinen zweiten Prozessor, bindet alles mögliche ein, die Grafik erkennt er aber anscheinend nicht. Ich denke nicht, daß das Problem am Kompiliervorgang liegt, hab aber auch noch nie einen 64bit-Rechner unter den Fingern gehabt.

Der Rechner hat doch einen SATA-Controller mit Software-RAID, oder?
(Das rate ich jetzt einfach mal)

Das werde ich mal probieren.
Die Frage ist: brauchts die SCSI-Treiber? Immerhin laufen SATA-Platten als sd[abcd].

Ich meine die Treiber uralter SCSI-Karten, die niemand je im Rootserver hatte ... SATA ist schon wichtig.
