Boot Image

Hallo,

ich finde einfach nicht wie man aus dem eigenen installierten System eine Boot Image erstellen kann um es später ins RAM via TFTP zu laden.

Klar könnte ich die images (initrd.gz) von SuSE und Co. benutzen, nur sind die nicht wirklich toll :( Und ich hätte halt gerne ein Debian :lol: Nur bin ich bis jetzt total ratlos wie man so eine Boot Image erstellt.

Kann mir einer ein paar nützliche Tipps geben?

schau mal da nach. - Die initrd ist nur für Module, die der Kernel braucht, wenn er das Rootfilesystem noch nicht gemountet hat (und damit nicht an die Module auf der Platte rankommt), mit Systemimage hat das wenig zu tun.

Scheinst aber unstable zu nutzen. In Sarge gibt es "noch" kein yaird.

Ich versuch es mal mit den anderen tools wie zb. mkinitrd-cd ...

ich muss leider nochmal nachhaken :oops:

Und zwar habe ich den kernel und image von knoppix genommen und versuche diesen übers Netz zu booten. Nur klappt es irgendwie nicht.

Hier meine default von pxelinux.cfg

Den Kernel linux und initrd holt er sich prima, nur lädt er einfach nicht die knoppix image nach. :(

Ich weiß einfach nicht wieso er die image nicht nachlädt :(

Kernel Panic beim Client

Hallo,

das mit der Kernel Panic habe ich hin bekommen, lag wohl am kernel. Knoppix bootet jetzt, aber irgendwie lädt der immernoch nicht die Image. Im promt kommt die Meldung

Diese shell ist wirklich unbrauchbar. Er kann nur befehle wie; cat, mount, umount, insmod und das war es :(

Jemand vielleicht noch eine Idee was ich falsch machen könnte ?
