Ich will auf dem nächsten root server Debian Sarge installieren.
Sollte ich den default Kernel 2.4.27 (mit was immer an Patches die Debian Leute da reinkompiliert haben) oder den aktuellen 2.4.30 mit meiner eigenen bewährten .config (nur das nötige, alles statisch) nehmen?

Wenn Dein eigener Kernel stabil läuft (und keine bekannten Lücken hat), solltest Du ihn auch verwenden...
