Lilo bootet nicht mehr-ziemlich strange

Hallo,

ich habe mehrmals eine Debian Installation aus dem rescue System durchgeführt. Am Schluss schreibe ich mit lilo -v -v -b /dev/hda -D Debian den Lilo in den Bootsector, was auch ohne Fehlermeldungen funktioniert.
Nur leider bootet das System nicht mehr. Meine Installation wurde mehrmals durchgeführt, auch von einer 2ten Person überprüft, es klappt auch alles, nur booten tut er nicht mehr. Kann das ein HW Problem sein? Wie kann ich weiter vorgehen?
Das gleiche mit Grub. Grub lässt sich ohne Fehlermeldung installen, findet auch den Kernel und fügt ihn hinzu. Booten tut er nicht. Ich habe auch die Festplatte schon komplett gelöscht, neue Partitionen angelegt etc..
fsck meldet auch keine Fehler.

Ich weiß echt nicht weiter...

Meldet sich der zu bootende Kernel in den Logs (und wenn ja, was steht drin) oder kommt der Rechner beim Booten nichtmal bis dahin?

Sorry für das Riesenposting, aber das ist die gesamte syslog nach einem erfolglosen reboot.
D.h. der Kernel wird gebootet...aussteigen tut er anscheinend bei dem Exim Zeug..

Wenn es sich bei der betroffenen Kiste um einen rootie handelt: Prüfe Deine Netzwerkkonfiguration.

Die Kiste läuft einwandfrei. Dass der letzte Eintrag von exim kommt ist auch normal, da er standardmäßig nicht als Daemon läuft sondern regelmäßig per Cron aufgerufen wird.

Also jetzt klappts. Der NIC Treiber wurde tatsächlich nicht das richtige geladen. Der Support behauptete es sei ein Realtekkarte drin...!? In Wirklichkeit brauche ich aber das sis900.o Modul für meine Karte.
Und diese Modul ist im 2.4.18-bf2.4 nicht dabei. D.h. ich musste im rescue auch nen neuen Kernel kompilen und das sis900 Modul reinnehmen.
