httpd.conf-Konfigurations-Variable mit .htaccess abschalten?

Hallo Alle

Ich habe in der httpd.conf die "Errordocument 404" für alle Server gesetzt.
Ist leider so und kann ich nicht ändern, weil ....
In einem der Virtualhosts möchte ich das aber wieder abschalten, weil
ich dort mit mod_rewrite etwas ausprobieren will.
Geht das mit einer .htaccess? AllowOverride ist auf All.
