FTP Sever startet nicht

Also habe wie im FAQ bereich beschreiben FXP im proftpd aktiviert und wollte neustarten

/etc/init.d/proftpd start
ProFTPd is started from inetd.

Aber wenn ich versuche per FTP prog zu connecten kommt:

Resolving host name 80.xxx.xxx.xxx...
Connecting to (80.xxx.xxx.xxx).
Connection refused.
Cannot login waiting to retry...

Also scheint Proftpd nicht richitg zu starten, leider habe ich keine logs gefunden, was soll ich tun?

also connection refused klingt eher nach einem config problem.

ich hab den proftpd als standalone. läuft nicht über (x)inetd
da mach ich proftpd restart

aber normalerweise langt es aus den indetd zu restarten.

ist deine config auch komplett richtig ?

ich würde den fehler erstmal dort suchen.
mach doch mal über die shell einen connect auf localhost.

dann siehst vielleicht auch ein bissel mehr von der fehlermeldung.
proftpd schreibt aber standardmässig auch nen logfile. da steht bestimmt auch was drin.
ist der pfad zum config file richtig ?
das kannst leicht probieren in dem du den proftpd als standalone startest.

Also habe auser einer Zeile nichts an der config geänder (habe es mitlerweile auch rückgänig gemacht und proftpd lief schon und möchte confixx nicht reizen

Also scheint auf dem Port schon mal nichts sein.

also ich hab ja den befehl telnet noch nie benutzt auf der shell.

aber telnet ist bei mir telnet.

du willst ja per ftp probieren.

statt web1 bzw pass setzt du halt den user und das pass ein.

ein tlnet service läuft bei dir ja nicht.
wenn der auf ftp connecten würde, dann würd auch nen login fehler wie zuvor kommen.

Testweise geht das auch per Telnet. Wirklich funktionsfähig ist das ganze aber trotzdem nicht, da man mit Telnet nicht die FTP-typische Trennung von Daten- und Kontrollkanal hinbekommt.

ich habe meinen ProFTPd als "standalone" laufen, da viele behaupten es wäre besser. Aber auch mir gefällt diese Methode besser als die (meiner Meinung nach) umständliche anderere Möglichkeit.

Dafür frisst er aber auch die 23,5 Stunden am Tag, wo du ihn nicht brauchst Resourcen.
Jetzt kommt bestimmt gleich als Argument, dass die halt sonst der inetd benötigen würde, was allerdings nur bedingt richtig ist, da der inetd sehr schlank ist

Ja da magst ja auch recht haben. Aber irgendwie ist mir das auch egal, da ich genug Ressourcen zur verfügung habe. Bei einer Systemlast von unter 0.01 mache ich mir da eigentlich keine Sorgen.

Dein FTPd wird nie vom inetd gestartet, da die Zeile auskommentiert ist...

...würde ich mir Mal gedanken drüber machen.

Habe mich noch nie mit proFTPd auseinandergesetzt.

Steht in der proftpd.conf etwas von "inet" oder von "standalone" ? Wenn du die Zeile in der inetd.conf auskommentiert hast, könntest du den standalone starten, ich würde allerdings eher einfach die Zeile in der inetd.conf wieder aktivieren, und danach den inetd neu starten.
