Irgendwie schon... nur leider hat das Konsequenzen, die weiter reichen als nur das Produkt OpenSolaris. Dahinter stecken auch Technologien wie ZFS und DTrace, beide mittlerweile Bestandteil von FreeBSD. Und vor Oracle liegen ja noch ein paar andere FOSS-Projekte, die sie von Sun "geerbt" haben und zu deren sie sich bisher nicht geäußert haben. Wie steht's denn um NetBeans (enthält einiges an Code von Sun Studio) - oder für Rootie-Betreiber noch wichtiger, was wird aus MySQL?

Es gibt ja mitlerweile von jedem Sun-OSS-Projekt mindestens einen Fork, insofern leben die Projekte irgendwie weiter. Anders sieht es dagegen mit den Patenten aus, siehe Oracle vs Google und da wird es noch zahlreiche Probleme geben.
Nüchtern betrachtet ist das Ganze eine längst überfällige Marktbereinigung.
