Das bestätigt letztendlich, was isotopp schon bei der Übernahme von MySQL durch Sun prophezeit hat: Sun arbeitet hart daran, dass MySQL sinnvoller mit dem großen Blech eingesetzt werden kann, mit dem Sun sein Geld verdient. "Sinnvoller" heißt in diesem Fall bessere vertikale Skalierung, als das bei MySQL bisher der Fall war...

Die Google-Patches sind wohl zum großen Teil in Zusammenarbeit mit Percona entstanden, die sich intensiv mit der Entwicklung eines "besseren" InnoDB, genannt XtraDB, beschäftigen (siehe http://www.percona.com/docs/wiki/release:5077-b13 und http://www.percona.com/docs/wiki/percona-xtradb:start).

Im Gegenteil. Bei Percona arbeiten einige (wie Isotopp es ausgedrückt hat) "sehr helle Köpfe", die zuvor bei MySQL AB angestellt waren, denen aber die Übernahme durch Sun nicht so richtig geschmeckt hat.matzewe01 wrote:Ich gehe davon aus, dass auch die Percona zu den "google" Zöglingen gehört.

Ich bin davon ausgegangen, dass du meintest Percona sei von Google Mitarbeitern gegründet worden und würde direkt oder indirekt von Google (finanziell) unterstützt werden.
