Ich habe seit kurzem auch ein Suse-System und habe ein paar prinzipielle Probleme:
Mir ist das Konzept hinter /etc/sysconfig nicht schlüssig. Hat jemand einen Link oder eine Info wo ich mich darüber schlau machen kann? Und was sollen die zusätzlichen suseconfig files in den normalen /etc/ verzeichnissen ? welches configfile wird denn nun verwendet? irgendwie ist mir das zu hoch...

/etc/sysconfig ist nicht SUSE-spezifisch und es werden die Konfigurationsdateien beider Verzeichnisse genutzt. Alles Weitere kannst Du der Dokumentation der jeweiligen Pakete/Distribution entnehmen.
