Kein Zugriff per FTP

Hallo,
bei jedem Verbindungsaufbau zum Server bekomme ich immer sofort folgende Fehlermeldung

Connect method failed. No connection could be made because the target machine actively refused it. This usually results from trying to connect to a service that is inactive on the foreign host...

Es ist ein Suse 8.1-System mit Webmin.
Als FTP-Programm benutze ich vsftp, die Einstellungen müssen soweit richtig sein. Könnte es mit virtuellen Hosts zusammenhängen?

Kann mir jemand weiterhelfen?

Ohne Logs wird dir sicher kaum jemand weiterhelfen können.

Also in der warn, messages und der vsftpd.log steht nichts über den Versuch.

Mit virtuellen Hosts hängt das in der Regel nicht zusammen, denn diese sind eine Erweiterung des HTTP-Protokolles - ein FTP-Server spricht in der Regel FTP, auch wenn man mit dem Internet Explorer draufkommt.

Was sagt netstat, ps, oder telnet localhost 21?
Schon mal über die IP connected?

Ã?brigens scheint da kein vsftpd zu laufen, kann es sein, daß Du die Configdateien bearbeitet hast und er danach ausgestiegen ist?

Warum denn nicht? Wie bekomme ich es zu starten?

Waren mehrere Fehler, u.a. xinetd / Record.

Hast du denn irgendetwas in den Logs stehen?
Ich bin hiermit klargekommen: http://www.rootforum.org/forum/viewtopic.php?t=19734

Hab mittlerweile vsftpd 1.20 laufen und keine Probleme mehr.
