Hello,

some years ago I installed postfix/spamassasin, which worked more or less ok, but I am not sure if all the work and administration was worth it.
At this time lots of spam got through the filters and it needed time to readjust everything on a regular basis.

So setting up my next server, I decided NOT to set up an email server again but use the email solution of my internet provider (webmail / IMAP) and of course its spam filtering.
Now I am absolutely happy with the spam, which is very few, but unhappy with the nearly unusable slow webmail and IMAP problems from time to time.

So what to do with the next server setup? I do not want to spend again lots of administration time in spam recognition/filters and I see that the internet provider does a good job on sorting out spam.

Is there a postfix/spam email solution available where the filters are adjusted automatically by a group of people or company? I would prefer a _simple_ webmail/IMAP soulution.
Does somebody know a mail provider that has a really working webmail interface / IMAP for some thousand mails?

Auf Grund Deines anderen Postings gehe ich mal davon aus, dass Du aus dem deutschsprachigen Raum kommst.

Da Du keinen eigenen Mailserver möchtest, würde ich spontan mal Google oder GMX in den Raum werfen.

Danke für die Tipps. Ja, das Formular "New Posting" ist bei mir komplett englisch, daher habe ich erst beim 2. Beitrag bemerkt, daß die "anderen" auf Deutsch schreiben.
Google für betriebliche Kommunikation ist leider keine gute Idee, warum nicht gleich Facebook. [-x

Werde GMX mal testen, hoffentlich bekomme ich da testweise mal ein paar tausend Mails hinein, sonst ist es wenig aussagekräftig. Weil das Webmail vom jetzigen Provider funktioniert mit fast leerem Postfach ja auch prima.

Dann gibt es eigentlich nur einen Ort wo ein Mail-Server stehen sollte. Und das ist das eigene Netz.

Ok, in Zeiten von Cloud und Co stehe ich mit dieser Meinung oftmals etwas einsam da ...

Wenn ich mich recht erinnere, müsste http://www.maiamailguard.com/maia/wiki geeignet sein.

IMAP ist bei den meisten Providern leider immer noch recht stiefmütterlich ausgebaut, mit entsprechend schwacher Performance bei großen Mail-Mengen. Wenn's für einen geschäftlichen Zweck ist, muss man auch bedenken, dass Archivierungslösungen mit fremdgehosteten Maildiensten eine eher wackelige Angelegenheit sind...

Thanks for the comments, looking on http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Comparison_of_mail_servers it seems "Courier" should do the job. I will check that.

Also die englische Oberfläche hier ist schon verwirrend, wieder reingefallen. :-)

PS: Beim Thunderbird kann man Einstellen, daß die Mails lokal synchronisiert werden, somit gibt es immer eine "Sicherung" der Mails ohne besonderen Aufwand dafür zu betreiben..
