Fehler bei PHP-Compilierung

Moinsen. ich versuche schon die ganze Zeit mein PHP auf 4.4.0 upzudaten. Ich hänge aber seit einer Stunde an folgender stelle:
checking for c++... c++
checking whether the C++ compiler (c++ -Wl,-rpath,/usr/ssl/lib -L/usr/ssl/lib -Wl,-rpath,/usr/X11R6/lib -L/usr/X11R6/lib -Wl,-rpath,/usr/local/lib -L/usr/local/lib -Wl,-rpath,/usr/lib/qt3/lib -L/usr/lib/qt3/lib) works... no
configure: error: installation or configuration problem: C++ compiler cannot create executables.
